PSU somehow had to fight their way to a 60-45 win over Army on Wednesday. I deliberately decided to not go to the game, or watch it, because I just knew it was going to be this ugly. Battle apparently banged up his wrist and he had to go out. But then, he came back and dominated, essentially ending the game with about 5 minutes left. You can check out the box score here.
Mount Saint Mary’s comes into State College this afternoon. The game was moved to a 1:30 PM tipoff to accomodate the amazing women’s volleyball team and their match tonight. Now, MSM made the tournament last year and I believe they were picked to win the NEC again. They had a respectable performance at Virginia Tech, only losing by 5. They also lost to a good George Mason club. However, they’re coming into this game on a 3 game losing streak, having dropped close games to Sacred Heart, Navy, and Central Connecticut State, leaving them 0-2 in the NEC. So perhaps, they aren’t that good.
PSU should win by double digits, but if they don’t show up or play like they did against Army, I will not be surprised to see PSU lose. I’ll take PSU by 9 in another ugly game.
